AssaultCube 1.2.0.2 is out, available for Linux, Mac OSX and Windows

AssaultCube, previously known as ActionCube, is an 100% free, multiplatform and open source FPS (First-Person Shooter) game based on the CUBE gaming engine, featuring multiplayer functionality. It is often described as a conversion of the Wouter van Oortmerssen's FPS game called Cube.

What's new in AssaultCube 1.2.0.2:
  • Work-around for some buggy (linux) libcurl versions added.
  • Masterserver bug (MS list not being retrieved) fixed.
  • Paintbucket mapmodel added.
  • assaultcube.sh helps check for required libraries before launching.
  • server.sh options now work again (bugfix)
  • --mastertype switch allows UDP/HTTP connecting to the MS.
  • Command completion fixed.
The gameplay stays fast and arcade

The game is set in a realistic looking environment, as far as that's possible with the CUBE engine, while its gameplay stays fast and arcade. However, AssaultCube is all about team oriented multiplayer fun.

Consists of 12 multiplayer game modes

It consists of 12 multiplayer game modes, including Survivor, Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Keep the Flag, Hunt the Flag, Pistol Frenzy, One-Shot One-Kill, and Last Swiss Standing. Team versions of these modes are also included.

Users can record their gaming sessions

AssaultCube is low-latency, allowing users to record their games using the "demo" system. It includes 26 different maps, features a single-player bot system, and includes a built in and in-game map editor.
