Mozilla Firefox 34.0.5 released, Available for Linux Fedora, Arch Linux, Chakra, Ubuntu, OpenSUSE, Mac and Windows

The Mozilla Firefox project is a redesign of Mozilla's browser component, written using the XUL user interface language and designed to be cross-platform, supporting Linux, Android, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. It is a fast, small and very easy-to-use web browser/navigator/explorer that offers many advantages over other similar products, such as the ability to block pop-up windows and the feature-rich tabbed browsing experience.

What's New in This Release:
  • Firefox Hello real-time communication client
  • Easily switch themes/personas directly in the Customizing mode
  • Wikipedia search now uses HTTPS for secure searching (en-US only)
  • Implementation of HTTP/2 (draft14) and ALPN
  • Recover from a locked Firefox process in the "Firefox is already running" dialog on Windows
  • ECMAScript 6 WeakSet Implemented
  • JavaScript Template Strings Implemented
  • CSS3 Font variants and features control (e.g. kerning) implemented
  • WebCrypto: RSA-OAEP, PBKDF2 and AES-KW support
  • WebCrypto: wrapKey and unwrapKey implemented
  • WebCrypto: Import/export of JWK-formatted keys
  • matches() DOM API implemented (formerly mozMatchesSelector())
  • Performance.now() for workers implemented
  • WebCrypto: ECDH support
  • Support for the ECMAScript 6 Symbol data type added
  • WebIDE: Create, edit, and test a new Web application from your browser
  • Highlight all nodes that match a given selector in the Style Editor and the Inspector's Rules panel
  • Improved User Interface of the Profiler
  • console.table function added to web console
  • CSS transitions start correctly when started at the same time as changes to display, position, overflow, and similar properties
Also for Linux does not even revisited the new search bar that will allow better management of the various search engines or favorite websites (for more details) while debuts the new manager of the themes available directly from the menu customization. (for more information)

Features at a glance

The application offers a well designed graphical user interface that integrates search (powered by Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.), and industry leading accessibility with Find As You Type - find links and page text by simply typing. As mentioned before, the Firefox browser features comprehensive pop-up controls, which will keep unwanted advertising off your desktop. A tab browsing mode will let you open several pages in a single window, allowing you to load links in the background without leaving the page you're on.

News for developers, Firefox 34.0.5 includes the implementation by the extension of TLS (Transport Layer Security) called ALPN (Application-Layer Protocol Negotiation) and new WebIDE for testing and editing web application accessible directly from the browser.
