DrawPile is an open source and completely free graphical software implemented in C++/Qt and designed from the ground up to act as a collaborative drawing application that supports multiple operating systems.

It is a sketching-oriented application that can be easily compared with the popular OpenCanvas software for the proprietary Microsoft Windows operating system. It includes various attractive features that we have listed in the next section.

The major improvements in this version are:
  • New tool: Watercolor brush (picks up color from the layer)
  • A pixel grid is now shown (if enabled) on high zoom levels
  • Improved Mac support
  • Better detection of disconnected clients
  • Improved brush rendering (especially thin brushes)
  • Support for playing back recordings made with all previous versions
Also, the new Windows an OSX builds are bundled with the newly released Qt 5.4 library, which should hopefully fix some Wacom related bugs.

Binary packages are available for certain distributions:
If your distro is not listed, or the latest version has not been packaged yet, you can install the program for sources.

Our hope tutorial entitled " Drawpile 0.9.6 released, Available for Ubuntu, Arch Linux, OpenSUSE and Mac OS X " can be useful for visitors or readers.
